About this book

The Calendar of the Most High from Chanokh to Yeshua Short description Which calendar is right? The witnesses of the Torah, Chanokh, Yovelim and the sons of Tzadok answer: the unbroken week, the 364-day year of the lights, and the feasts on their fixed days. Contents and details Which calendar is right? “The calendar is not a side question to the life of faith. It is the frame on which the whole Torah of the appointed times hangs.” Every act of obedience happens on a specific day. Yet believers today find a Messianic world divided over how to reckon the appointed times of YAHUAH. Some follow the rabbinic calendar of Hillel II, while others wait for the sighted new moon or the spring barley. Some move the Shabbat around the lunar month. A believer who wants only to obey is left asking whom to trust. This book puts back into the reader’s hands the ancient witnesses that speak most directly about the calendar: the Torah, the Prophets, the Brit Chadashah, Sefer Chanokh with its Book of the Luminaries, Sefer HaYovelim with its heavenly tables, and the priestly scrolls kept by the sons of Tzadok at Qumran. Setting aside traditions that move the feasts for human convenience or rely on the moon, it sets out the calendar of the Most High: * The Week: the unbroken week of creation, carried by the manna and kept by Yeshua, with the Shabbat on the seventh day, the day now called Saturday. * The Year: a 364-day year governed by the sun, in months of 30, 30 and 31 days, beginning on the fourth day of the week, when the lights were set, on or after the spring equinox. * The Feasts: a fixed reckoning in which every appointed time falls on the same day of the week every year, just as Yovelim commands. Along the way it describes fairly the seven calendars kept in the Messianic world today, including the working model of M. A. Hook. It traces how the count was lost, from Antiochus and Hillel II to Constantine and Gregory, and how the prince of this world sets up his own appointed times. It answers twelve common objections, and it shows Mashiach in every appointed time, from the Shabbat to the Yovel. Where the House has made a ruling the Scriptures do not spell out, the book says so plainly. “These are my Mo’edim” (Vayikra 23:2). If they are His, then we should want to be found at His door on His day. It matters. Remember. Return. Restore. Contents: Dedication · Preface · Introduction: The Question of the Calendar.
