About this book
Race: Human · Political: Freedom · Religion: Love — A Book for All the Children of Adam Short description Every passport asks where you were born and who you are. Four answers true for every human being: Earth, Human, Freedom, Love. Contents and details “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth” (Ma’asei HaShlichim 17:26). At the border post at Namanga the land on both sides is the same red dust under the same sky. The cattle do not know where the line is; the birds cross it without papers. Only the children of Adam must stand in a queue and show who they are. Every passport and identity card asks, in one form or another, where you were born and who you are. Some ask your race or your tribe, your political allegiance, your religion. Place of Birth: Earth gives four answers that are true for every human being, and takes them one at a time: * Place of Birth: Earth — formed from the ground (adamah); one home with many lands; stewards, not owners; and the stranger at the gate, from the ger of the Torah to the refugee in Kakuma and Dadaab. * Race: Human — of one blood; how the lie called race and the hierarchy of colour were invented; tribe without tribalism; and the image of Elohim in every face. * Political: Freedom — made free, out of the house of bondage; why freedom is not lawlessness; Africa’s long walk to freedom, from the slave trade to the Kapenguria Six; and how free people build just nations through justice, Jubilee and conscience. * Religion: Love — Elohim is love; love made flesh in Yeshua HaMashiach; love of enemies, from Rwanda’s gacaca courts to South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission; the Commonwealth of Yisra’el; the last border every life crosses; and the citizens of love. Over the whole book stands one line: All in YAHUAH Elohim, in Yeshua HaMashiach, in the Commonwealth of Yisra’el. That commonwealth is not a race, a nation-state or a new tribe, but one family under one Father, open to every child of Adam. Written in Nairobi for the believer and the doubter, the refugee child and the minister in a capital city, it respects every reader’s conscience while saying plainly where the author’s hope rests. Every chapter ends with Questions for the Road, and the book closes with a Letter to the Children of Adam, the Human Passport, the Scriptures of the one human family, a guide for groups, a glossary and full indexes.
